Hamas: "Children fight By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook- March 24, 2006
The Hamas promotion of terror and violence among Palestinian children continues unabated. This past week, Hamas placed pictures on its web site (see pictures below) of children in combat roles and combat dress, taken during "Palestinian Children's Festival" held in Yemen. Yemen News reported: "A Hamas representative [in Yemen] Jamal Issa … stated that the Palestinian children fight alongside the adults in the resistance." These pictures were on the Hamas web site [www.palestinian-info.net] home page for a week, and can be seen today at this link:
Hamas Duplicity: Talk Peace in English and deny it Arabic By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook- March 23, 2006
In its attempt to gain international legitimacy, Hamas is presenting a conciliatory face to the Western media, while rejecting peace to its own people in Arabic, and even denying that the conciliatory statements were made. In the latest example, Hamas Prime Minister-designate Ismail Haniyah told CBS on March 16 that he hoped to some day sign a peace agreement with Israel. A Hamas member of Parliament immediately told the Palestinian Authority media that the CBS report was "unfounded," and part of a "crazy campaign which aims at embarrassing and confusing the Palestinians and undermining the trust of the masses in Hamas." [Al Hayat Al Jadida, March 19, 2006] Haniyah was interviewed on CBS news and said, among other things, that he was "seeking a peace settlement and stability in this region," "looking forward to peace and tranquility in this region," and "seeking American administration to create this missing peace." [www.cbsnews.com] Hamas Denies statements were made: A Hamas MP, speaking in Arabic to a PA newspaper, immediately denied these statements as lies, and part of a conspiracy of the US media to damage the true image of the Hamas:
It should be noted that the reason for this strong rejection of the willingness for peace with Israel is that it violates the most basic tenet of Hamas' belief, that Islam demands the destruction of Israel. Article 13 of the Hamas charter states: ". . . Renouncing any part of Palestine [i.e. accepting Israel] means renouncing part of the religion." Hamas would have to scrap and recreate the basis of its religious ideology to accept Israel. Suicide terror for children glorified By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook- March 16, 2006
Suicide terror for children is now being actively promoted on the Hamas children's web site al-fateh.net. The new material posted yesterday is a short fictional story for children, glorifying a young girl's suicide terror attack. It describes how she calmly progresses, step by step, planning and executing her death in a suicide terror attack. The girl heroically leads "Zionist soldiers" to their death, all the while knowing she will be killed along with them. In death she is said to be "smiling, lying on the grass, because she died as a Shahida (Martyr for Allah) for Palestine." The story is entitled "A Palestinian Girl's Heroism." The illustration with the story on the web shows a young smiling girl with four candles. The image of a living, smiling child in a story about the death of a child appears to echo a familiar message in PA children's education, that those who die as Shahids (Martyrs for Allah) are not really dead. (Click here to see PA TV broadcasts of Shahada promotion for children.) The Jerusalem Post reports today on Hamas's attempt to deny responsibility for this and other web sites administered from its Beirut office. The Jerusalem Post article is reprinted below, following the translation of the short story from the web site. It should be noted that after PMW publicized that the Hamas children's website was encouraging children to seek martyrdom, the Russian server (CORBINA TELECOM Network Operations) immediately closed down the website on March 9, 2006. However, the site reopened a couple of days later and is now being hosted by a Malaysian webhoster (Eastgate;Telekom Multimedia of Telekom Malaysia Berhad;Telekom Exchange II, Jalan Lingkaran Fauna). The following is the new short story on the web site: A Palestinian Girl's Heroism
From The Jerusalem Post, March 16, 2006 Hamas denies running kids' suicide Web site By Orly Halpern Hamas has denied charges by two Israeli organizations that a cartoon-style Web site for kids that praises suicide bombings belongs to the militant Islamic movement. The al-fateh.net site encourages children to commit suicide in order to kill Israeli soldiers and civilians. On Wednesday the site had an item telling a short story about a young girl who knowingly leads Israeli soldiers to a bomb and dies with them. The story said that "Suhad became a shahida (martyr) lying on the grass and smiling because she was a shahida for Palestine." Itamar Marcus, Director of Palestinian Media Watch (PMW), an Israeli organization which monitors and translates Palestinian Arabic language media, said that the site, along with palestine-info.com and palestinegallery.com are official Hamas sites. "A man by the name of Nizar Hussein who sits in Lebanon runs those site and he runs the children's Hamas Web site from the same server," said Marcus. According to Dr. Reuven Ehrlich, a former army general who now directs an organization called the Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center said Hussein works in the same office as leading Hamas official in Lebanon, Osama Hamdan. "We know and assume that they are working together," said Ehrlich. "I checked it out with my Israelis sources and they confirmed this. I can't reveal who they are." According to a Hamas official in Ramallah, Hamas has long been falsely accused of running the palestine-info.com Web site. "You should ask [the Israelis] where they have this information from," Farhat Abu-Assad, a Hamas official in Ramallah, told The Jerusalem Post. Abu-Assad said that many Islamic sites sympathize with Hamas "but that does not make them Hamas Web sites. The [people who run these sites] are private individuals that might sympathize with Hamas, but Hamas does not recognize these Web sites." Marcus said the proof is in the content. "The fact is that they use these sites to publicize their announcements," said Marcus. "That is their way of getting their messages out to the world." But Abu-Assad said the announcements are available to all and appear in many Palestinian media agencies including the official Palestinian news agency WAFA and in Maan, an Internet news Web site. Marcus added that palestinegallery.com has materials that could not be available to others. "There is no way in the world that they can get these films of suicide bombings on these Web sites." The children's site, which is in Arabic, has a "Shahid of the Week" on its homepage. PMW believes that the reason Hamas
does not have a declared official Web site is because it might be closed
down for political reasons. Indeed, in an interview with UPI on October
10, Osama Hamdan said that Hamas did not have its own Internet site and
that political pressure caused down its former site to be shut down three
years ago. However PMW noted that some countries which host servers, such as Malaysia, would not close a Hamas Web site. This promotion of Shahada death for children is not new in the PA. The Palestinian Authority through its televised videos and children's textbooks has taught children to see death through Shahada as "sweet", desirable, and something to aspire.
PFLP forecasts murder of Israeli leaders By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook- March 14, 2006
Today Jews around the world celebrate the holiday of Purim, the respite after the defeat of Haman of Persia, who was the first world figure to plan genocide against the Jews. There are those who are still calling for the murder of Jews, as can be seen today on the web site of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) Note that the face in the coffin is that of the murdered Israeli Cabinet Minister Rehavam Zeevi. Text header: Text on picture of murdered Israeli

Terrorist-murderer
Quntar awarded honorary Palestinian citizenship
Introduction Societies measure their heroes in different ways. Some societies honor athletes or performers. Others celebrate caregivers and humanitarian workers. The Palestinians, on the other hand, have consistently chosen to honor murderers as their national icons. The Palestinian Authority has announced that it was granting honorary citizenship to two Arab terrorists who killed Israelis – a Lebanese terrorist, Samir Quntar, and Jordanian terrorist, Sultan Al-Ajaluni. Both are serving life sentences in Israeli jails. In 1979 Lebanese terrorist Samir Quntar murdered Danny Haran and his four-year-old daughter, Einat. Danny's daughter Yael, aged two, suffocated while hiding in a crawl space with her mother. Quntar is serving multiple life sentences totaling 542 years in prison. Smadar Haran, wife and mother of the murder victims, described the murder in the Washington Post in 2003:
This is the Samir Quntar who last week was granted honorary Palestinian citizenship. Palestinian organizations responded with applause to this announcement:
From PMW archives: Sarmir Quntar – for years a Palestinian hero PATV and PA leaders have long seen Quntar
as a hero. His picture is repeatedly shown on TV and he was proclaimed
the "model warrior," "brave," and a "leader"
and "head" of the prisoners.
Prominent PA TV broadcaster Muhammad Albaz:
PA TV extolled him:
Another TV broadcaster referred to him as a leader:
A broadcast describing Quntar's life defines his murder as "brave:
Palestinian demonstrators supporting a prisoner hunger strike singled out Quntar as a model to be followed:
Finally it should be noted that this act of granting honorary Palestinian citizenship to Quntar was done by the present Fatah headed government. The Hamas led government has not yet been appointed. PA daily: Western Leaders are Hitler copies and Neo-cons are Nazis By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook- March 9, 2006
Verbal attacks against the US and the West are increasing in the Palestinian Authority press. In different articles this week, the editor-in-chief of the PA daily defined Western leaders as copies of Hitler, American neo-conservative ideology was defined as Nazi "Aryan supremacy doctrine," American policy was defined as "fascist" and the cause of Arab extremism, and an article in the same PA daily scorned the US for "introducing dubious elements amongst the Muslims, such as democratic ideology." This hatred of the US was also expressed in anti-US political cartoons, such as this one at right. It presents the crimes of individual soldiers, who were punished for their actions, as Bush's personal "democracy." PMW has reported in that past that the frequent hatred expressed towards the US by the PA has had significant impact on Palestinian public opinion. A recent European poll found that 65% of Palestinians "support Al-Qaeda actions in the USA and Europe." [Fafo - Norwegian-based NGO, in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, December 23, 2005] This strong support of those would destroy America came in spite of hundreds of millions of dollars in annual US aid to the PA, and was documented before the US announced a freeze in funding after the election of the Hamas government. The following are two editorials and an article from the PA press this week: 1 - American neo-cons continue Nazism
Neo-cons continue Nazism
American policy is fascist and caused Arab extremism

Hamas Encouraging
Children By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook- March 7, 2006
Hamas has a special web site for children, al-fateh.net, where violence is glorified and death for Allah is labelled a "victory." Al-Fateh means 'The Conqueror.' The Shahada deaths of terrorists during attacks against Israel are presented to children as a time of celebration. A mother is quoted on the website as saying that when she heard that her son had become a shahid (martyr), she bought dates, candies and coffee to give out. The website features a page entitled 'Stories of the Shahids.' The current story honors Hamas suicide terrorist Naseem Ja'abari who killed 16 people in a bus bombing in Beersheba on August 31, 2004. The drawing of the religious girl participating in the violence (at right) appears both on the homepage as well as a second page with a poem glorifying fighting, Jihad, and Shahada (Death for Allah). Israel is referred to as "thief" and "invader," and its defeat in battle is both desired and anticipated. Following are translations of the poem and excerpts from 'Stories of the Shahids.' We rose up
Stories of the Shahids
Naseem's mother tells of her son's merits and says that when she heard of his terrorist action, she took the money he had left her and "went to buy dates and candies for the people who came to congratulate [us]." She goes on to tell how she heard her son commited the suicide bombing. Finally, she sends her greetings to all those people who want to become shahids. Naseem's mother also gloats that "[in light] of the
success of the heroic attack in Beersheba, the Zionist Secret Service
admitted they failed in eliminating the Resistance [a Palestinian euphemism
for terror], its roots and infrastructure". This on a website for children. The story of the shahid is headed by his name superimposed on the map of Israel.

A Self-Portrait of Suicide Terrorists By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - March 2, 2006 The romanticized view of suicide terrorists in the Oscar-nominated Palestinian film Paradise Now bears little resemblance to the real world of suicide bombers, whose actual farewell videos include the following vows:
The following is a selection of videos prepared by six Hamas and Fatah suicide terrorists prior to their attacks. They give a glimpse into the hatred and dreams of an afterlife that motivate these killers. These self-portraits, not the fantasy world of film fiction, show the authentic suicide bomber. The terrorist videos include calls for Israel's destruction, the belief that killing Israelis will guarantee entrance into Paradise and the belief that as reward for their terror, the men will marry Maidens of Paradise.

PA TV: Mom sad daughter arrested, By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - February 27, 2006
A new interview on official Palestinian Authority television offers a chilling twist on the popular TV topic - Palestinian mothers' support for their children's suicide terror missions. The interview features the mother of Wafa Al-Bas, a 21-year-old Palestinian woman who was arrested at the Erez border crossing in June 2005 with a 20-pound bomb inside her underwear. Her target was the outpatient clinic of Soroka Hospital in Beersheba, where she had been receiving regular treatments for serious burns to 45 per cent of her body from a gas stove explosion in her home. Her greatest wish, she said later, was to kill 30 to 50 Israelis, including children. The hospital attack would likely have killed or maimed the Israeli doctor who had saved her life. In last week's PA TV interview with Wafa's parents, her mother says the event was hard for her - not because her daughter was on a suicide mission, but because she was arrested. The mother says she knew that her daughter had wanted to be a martyr since she was a little girl, but the mother hadn't encouraged her - not because the mother opposed the idea of suicide bombing, but because Wafa was female. "If it was a boy, I would have supported, but since she is a girl I discouraged." Once again, the message to Palestinian society from broadcasts like this is that suicide bombing is not wrong. Indeed, it is seen as an honor and a joy to raise a child to be a suicide bomber - at least if that child is a son. Hamas and Nuclear Terror By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - February 21, 2006 The military wing of Hamas has placed on its website's homepage a graphic of the destruction of the Star of David - the symbol of Israel - in a nuclear holocaust.
The homepage of Az A-Din Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of terror organization Hamas, features a black rectangle at the top of the page in which a Star of David appears. This is followed immediately by an image of a nuclear explosion that erases the star. Then Arabic words appear:
When clicking on the window more information appears glorifying this terrorist cell, captured by Israel. The scene of the atomic destruction of the Star of David repeats every few seconds.
Hamas plans to kidnap Israeli soldiers By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - February 15, 2006 Hamas is making it clear in its internal Arabic language expression that it has not changed from a terrorist organization, despite its sweeping victory in the recent Palestinian parliamentary elections. A Hamas official has announced that it plans to gain the release of Palestinian terrorist prisoners in Israeli jails by kidnapping Israeli soldiers. Contrary to the more moderate English language pronouncements of Hamas that have been publicized recently, in Arabic to its own people it continues to proudly portray the image of a terror group. In an article in Tuesday's Al-Ayyam, the Hamas representative of the 'National and Islamic Forces Prisoners Committee' was quoted as saying that if a Hamas-led government won't be able to secure the release of the prisoners by peaceful means, it will "take care" of the issue by kidnapping Israeli soliders. Below is a quote from the article, which was headlined, "How will a Hamas government act regarding the prisoners in the prisons of the Occupation?"
Hamas Video: By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - February 14, 2006
The Hamas website this week presented the parting video messages of two Hamas suicide terrorists. One message was for Jews, whose blood Hamas promises to drink until Jews "leave the Muslim countries," and the second to a mother, as she helps dress her son for battle prior to his suicide terror mission. To view the Hamas' Drink Jew's blood video click here Each terrorist had a separate message for Jews. This first said,
The second terrorist said the following:
One of the terrorists saw his death as a wedding with the Maidens of Paradise:
The message to one of the terrorist's mother was instruction for her to be joyous over his death and his "wedding" with the "Maidens of Paradise."
Included in the clip is the farewell scene between the mother and terrorist son while she helps him don his military vest. In the background one can hear the lyrics, "My dear mother, don't cry over us." To view the Hamas' Drink Jew's blood video click here Such words are eerily familiar to a music video that ran on Palestinian Authority Television for years, in which a boy asks his parents to be happy over his sought after death. Two lines from the music video ran,
Palestinian Media Watch has noted that on numerous occasions, the final messages of Palestinians that went on suicide missions reflected the messages they had been hearing in the Palestinian Authority media. You can view the music video by clicking here. After filming their goodbyes, the two Hamas suicide terrorists went to the Karni Crossing and killed an Israeli soldier. The clip includes scenes of preparation of a tunnel, and hiding explosives in the tunnel. Hamas placed the video on its website in February 2006 - after the Palestinian parliamentary elections. The terrorist act glorified in the video occurred over a year ago, on December 7, 2004. Palestinian Cartoons By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - February 9, 2006
The world is witnessing violent Muslim reactions to caricatures of Muhammad published in a Danish paper. In the Palestinian Authority, Palestinian gunmen threatened European Union officials, the Palestine Religious Scholars Association has called for a boycott of Danish products and, in the most recent development, the Temporary International Presence in Hebron has been forced out of its premises by Palestinian violence. Palestinian Media Watch has documented numerous of cartoons from Palestinian Authority newspapers featuring extreme anti-Semitism, and we are redistributing a selection of them below. In response to numerous queries, Palestinian Media Watch would like to stress that there are no Arab caricatures insulting the Hebrew prophets or Jesus. This is for a simple reason - Islam presents the Hebrew prophets and Jesus as Muslims who prophesied Islam. They teach that both Moses and Jesus received Islam from Allah and that Jews and Christians later distorted these teachings. As such, Judaism and Christianity are said to be perversions of Allah's only true word - Islam. Thus Moses, Abraham, all the prophets of the Hebrew Bible and Jesus are respected Muslims and are not ridiculed. However Jewish and Christian symbols are frequently used, such as in the portrayal of Jews crucifying "Palestine" in the picture above. Jews appear in the Arab media as subhuman, cannibals and as various animals, such as snakes, scorpions and spiders – often posing some form of threat to humanity. Below is a small selection. New Hamas Video: By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - February 6, 2006
The Palestinians have concluded from Israel's withdrawal from Gaza that violence, not negotiations, is effective in their ongoing effort to weaken and eventually destroy Israel. This is according to a new video just released on the official Hamas Web site. Images of Israelis being evacuated from Gaza and destroyed Israeli buildings are shown while these words are sung:
These last words - rejecting negotiations - are sung over the famous images of agreements being signed by Shimon Peres and Ariel Sharon with Palestinian leaders. While the words, the "homeland is returning," are sung, an image of the Israeli city of Haifa is displayed, stressing that the Palestinians see all of Israel as their "homeland" to be targeted. The words, "Let the enemies leave the entire land! And take their holy books which are all black," are sung while images of Jews in prayer are shown. The clear message to the Palestinian viewer is that the Gaza withdrawal is both the defeat of Israel through terror, and a precedent for the future. Accordingly, neither the Palestinians' means nor goals have changed: Violence and terror are seen as leading to Israel's continued withdrawals and eventual destruction. Click here to view the clip online Seeing the Gaza withdrawal as a justification for terror is a dominant sentiment in the PA in general and another article appeared in today's PA daily expressing the same opinion:

Hamas Remains Hamas By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - January 22, 2006 As the Hamas terror organization's rating in the polls rises daily, and with the PA elections just days away, the world media have been eager to report that Hamas has been presenting a more moderate image. Since 1993, the media have been repeatedly guilty of exaggerating Palestinian public relations messages of moderation, and presenting them as sincere changes in Palestinian ideology. However, this rush by the world media to crown Hamas as moderate is simply wrong. Mahmoud Al-Zahar, a senior Hamas official, appeared on a Palestinian Authority Television Hamas election ad and reiterated that there has been no change in the Hamas goal to destroy Israel. The unchanging Hamas religious ideology, that all of Israel is on Islamic land and therefore Islam demands it be destroyed, is stated unequivocally when Al-Zahar says, "Palestine is a land of Waqf [Islamic trust], which cannot be given up." Click here to view the Hamas TV election ad. The following is the transcript of part of the Hamas election ad:
Even before this broadcast, one had only to look at Hamas pre-election websites to see all the classic Hamas ideology - including the demand, based on religious belief, that all Israel must be destroyed through Jihad. The following are the messages on Hamas websites: 1.

all of "Palestine" Acre and Haifa. Click here to view examples from Hamas website videos. The following is the transcript of part of the Hamas website video:
PA Poem: There is no Bin Laden By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - January 16, 2006 A poem appearing on the opinion page of today's Al-Hayat Al-Jadida gives insight into the Palestinian Authority worldview. The blaming of Arab Muslims for Islamic terrorism, from Bin Laden to Al-Zarqawi in Iraq, is described as a fantasy invented by "occupation forces" to "justify war and disasters." The poet's questioning the existence of Bin Laden is consistent with a Palestinian denial of Arab Muslim responsibility for the World Trade Center Attacks. A 2003 public opinion poll revealed that only 46% of Palestinians believed that Bin Laden was responsible for the attacks against the US on September 11, 2001. Twenty-six per cent felt that Israel was behind the attacks. This refusal to acknowledge Muslim responsibility for Islamic terror is not unique to Palestinian society. A popular music video from Egypt, which you can view by clicking here, shows an animated cartoon image of Ariel Sharon pushing the button that sent the terrorists' planes crashing into the World Trade Center. This music video is exceedingly popular throughout the Arab world, and appears regularly on Arab satellite TV. Today's poem denies the existence of Arab-Muslim terror, and claims it is the West's justification for its wars against Arabs. The following is the translation:

"The Thieving, Zionist Enemy" By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - January 13, 2006 PA TV recently broadcast a ceremony from Egypt celebrating the founding of the PLO in 1965. Barakat Al-Fara of the PLO, formerly deputy to the Palestinian ambassador to Egypt, spoke in the name of the Palestinian factions. His speech stressed that the origin of the conflict with Israel is not Israel's control of Judea and Samaria (West Bank) but is Israel's existence. His speech included the denying of Israel's right to exist, using the term "Zionist enemy" four times and refusing to say the word "Israel." "The Zionist enemy" he said is "oppressive," the "Zionist oppression and aggression [is] supported by world imperialism," and that "the Zionist enemy ... does not know the language of peace." Israel pre-1967 is called the "thieving enemy" and he glorifies Fatah, who in 1965 planted "hope in the heart of the Palestinian nation" - stressing the basis of conflict was Israel's existence - before Judea and Samaria and the Gaza Stip were under Israeli administration. Former Egyptian Ambassador Muhammad Basyuni and Usama Al-Baz, political advisor of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, attended the ceremony. The following is from Barakat Al-Fara's speech at the ceremony:
PA Leadership Duplicity: PA leader By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - January 11, 2006 Palestinian Media Watch has for years documented the duplicity of the Palestinian Authority leadership, which sends a peaceful message to the world media and hate and terror message to its own people in Arabic. A new example was documented this week, involving Palestinian Legislative Council member Qadura Faras. Faras has been a prominent supporter of the "Geneva Initiative," an unofficial peace proposal drafted in 2003 by a group of leftist Israelis led by Yossi Beilin and Palestinians, and appears on the Geneva Initiative website, conveying a message of peace to Israelis. However, when Faras recently addressed Palestinians, he used his speech to honor and praise a terrorist who murdered 10 Israelis. He further spoke in memory of one he called a "Shahid" [martyr for Allah], a term that places blame for his death on Israel - even though he had died of cancer in an Israeli prison. Finally, he pledged to continue in the path of these terrorists. This is a totally different Qadura Faras than the one promoting peace on the "Geneva Initiative" web site. The following are the transcripts of these two irreconcilable messages - the first to Palestinians, and the second to Israelis. Faras addressing Palestinians:
Faras addressing Israelis [Geneva Initiative website]:
Arab Knesset Member Dahamshe: Sharon is "butcher of the Palestinian people ... a criminal ... swimming in Palestinian blood." By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - January 9, 2006 As Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon lies unconscious after a massive stroke, an Arab member of the Israeli parliament, Abd' Al-Malik Dahamshe, maligned Sharon, as the "butcher of the Palestinian people," "a criminal" and a man "swimming in Palestinian blood." The statements came as part of a 'question and answer' session on Internet portal Islam Online. The session was entitled 'Middle East future without Sharon?,' based on the widely held belief that Sharon's political career is at an end. Reproduced below is the transcript of the first question. It is interesting to note that in another question, a participant from Egypt alluded to a century-old Zionist conspiracy. The Protocols of the Elders of Zion, long considered a blatant libel in the West. The question is noteworthy in that it shows the general acceptance of these lies as a result of constant incitement and propaganda. Question:
MK Abd' Al-Malik Dahamshe:
"Be gone. Die anywhere you like, By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - December 29, 2005 PA TV program on Jaffa (Tel Aviv):
These words of hate are the parting moments of yet another program on Palestinian Authority television calling for the destruction of Israel. The words, calling for the expulsion of every last Israeli from Israel, are spoken while the screen is showing Jaffa-Tel Aviv, Israelis and Israeli flags. Official PA TV has aired this twice in recent months. The program about Jaffa opens with a revision of history, by casting the ancient Canaanites as Arabs. By doing this, the more than 3,000 years of Jewish history in the area are pre-dated by a fabricated Arab history. (The Arab Conquest actually took place in the seventh century of the Common Era.) Jaffa, a part of Tel Aviv, is defined as a Palestinian city, and all of Israel's coastal cities, Acre, Haifa, Caesarea, Ashdod, Ashkelon and Jaffa, are said to be situated in what is "known today as Palestine." According to this PA program, Israel is already non-existent. The final words of this television program are those of Israeli-Arab poet, Mahmoud Darwish, calling for the expulsion of every Israeli: "Die wherever you like, but don't die among us." The following is the transcript of the clip:
65% of Palestinians Support Al-Qaeda
By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - December 26, 2005 A poll published this week and reported in Palestinian newspapers found that 65% of Palestinians "support Al-Qaeda actions in the USA and Europe." Religiously-motivated Al-Qaeda attacks against those referred to as "Infidels" have killed thousands of Americans and Europeans. Why would the Palestinian population so overwhelmingly support the murder of Christians? For years, the Palestinian Authority religious leadership has been presenting its war against Israel's existence as merely one part of its global Islamic war being fought against the Christian-Jewish West. Just last month, a PA TV religious leader, during a televised sermon, included this prayer for the killing of all Infidels:
This prayer - clear incitement to the genocide of "Infidels," a term that includes the Christian West - is common from PA religious leaders. Prayers to annihilate all Infidels have been included in Friday prayers on PA TV at least six times in recent months. Presenting the destruction of the Christian-Jewish West as part of Allah's plan comes even from the highest religious powers, and receives the passive sanction of the highest political powers. Two of these sermons were delivered by Yusuf Jum'a Salamah, PA Minister of the Waqf and Religion - the most important religious office in the PA. Even though PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas was present on at least one of these occasions, similar prayers for genocide continued on the PA-owned and controlled TV in subsequent weeks. The Palestinian Authority religious leaders for years have routinely applied the term "Infidel" to the US and other countries with primarily Christian populations. The following are some recent and past examples:
View an excerpt of this sermon online here
Hear an excerpt of this sermon here The following are recent dates of prayers for genocide against all Infidels on PA TV:
The PA political leadership is careful to exclude this religious hate ideology from its presentations to foreign media. But in their Arabic sermons to the Palestinian population, PA religious leaders have been praying for years for the destruction of Western countries [See examples below]. This week's European-sponsored poll, showing an overwhelming majority of Palestinians supporting the murder of Christians by Al-Qaeda, comes at a time when US and European financial and political support for the Palestinian Authority is very high and widespread. It seems that if Palestinians have to choose between appreciating the financial and political support of the US and Europe, or hating them because of religion, religion will win. This commitment to religious teachings
among the Palestinian population is consistent with recent findings. In
a poll this year, 79.9% of Palestinians want the PA to follow the Shari'a
- Islamic religious law (68.6% wanted only Shari'a, while 11.3% wanted
both Shari'a and laws of the PA Legislature). What is striking, though, is the willingness of Palestinians to turn against even the Western countries upon whom they are so totally dependent in order to progress. The poll underscores what Palestinian Media Watch has been documenting for years - the profoundly negative impact hate education has had on PA society. And whereas some in Western governments have tried to minimize the impact of the hate incitement, choosing to blame PA hatred solely on the ongoing conflict, this poll underscores the independent dangers of hate education. Palestinians are not in direct conflict with the US, and certainly have counted on the Europeans as active allies. And yet an overwhelming majority desire to see Europeans and Americans killed by a religion-based terror organization. This religious hatred seems to have nullified the potential positive impact of the hundreds of millions of dollars in US and European aid sent to the Palestinians, including substantial new grants this year. These results should serve as a warning to all those who have categorized PA religion-based incitement to hatred and genocide as "mere rhetoric." It seems that for religious populations like the Palestinians, religious teachings, seen as the word of Allah, are ultimately what determine attitudes and policy. [The poll was conducted by 'Fafo,' a Norwegian-based NGO, among the Palestinian population in order to assess political feelings after Israel's voluntary withdrawal from Gaza in late-summer 2005 and reported in Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, December 23, 2005] From PMW Archives: Past calls to destroy Christian/Western countries Dr. Ikrime Sabri, Mufti of Jerusalem, highest-ranking Islamic figure in the Palestinian Authority, weeks before the September 11 attacks:

View an excerpt of this sermon here Mother sent sons on suicide missions, By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - December 20, 2005 Transforming Palestinian society into one that unabashedly embraces terror has necessitated terror promotion at all levels of its social, educational and political infrastructure. One of the most important components has been the indoctrination of mothers to see the deaths of their sons as positive - even beneficial - for their sons and their family status. The Palestinian Authority has accordingly made it a principle to honor not only suicide terrorists but also the mothers who actively send their sons on suicide terror missions, as well as the mothers who express joy after their sons' Shahada - Death for Allah. A striking example of this glorification of mothers of terrorists is the case of Um Nidal, who has recently been chosen to be a candidate on the Hamas list in the upcoming Palestinian Authority parliamentary elections.
Um Nidal, who appears at right in an image from the Hamas website honoring the mothers of suicide terrorists, participated in a farewell ceremony in which she sent her 17-year-old son to die through terror, "ordering him not to return except as a shahid [martyr for Allah]." In an interview recorded after her son murdered five Israeli teenagers in a suicide mission, she explained that it was a mother's love for her son that motivated her to be joyous over his Shahada death. Um Nidal's parting ceremony and interview were filmed, and turned Um Nidal into a heroine and role model in Palestinian society. To get a sense of the status in PA society of mothers who send their sons to die, note the way that even a self-proclaimed moderate like Sari Nusseibeh, president of Al-Quds University, addressed her during an interview. Um Nidal (explaining why she sent her son to die): "My son is not dearer than Islam. I have offered him as a gift and a sacrifice to Allah, may he be glorified, and to His true faith...." Sari Nusseibeh: "What comes to
mind as I listen to sister Um Nidal is the verse 'Paradise is under the
feet of the mothers'. Praise is due to this woman, and to every Palestinian
mother..." Um Nidal didn't stop at one son. She has proudly sent three of her sons to their death as terrorist shahids. Palestinian society has responded by dubbing her the "Al-Khansah of Palestine (see also http://www.palestine-info.co.uk/am/publish/article_15771.shtml). Al-Khansa is a a heroic figure from Islamic history who is glorified and revered solely for celebrating the deaths of her four shahid sons. The PA has underscored the importance of joyfully sacrificing sons for Allah in many different ways, including by naming five girls' schools - in Bethlehem, Jenin, Nablus, Khan Yunis and Rafah - after Al-Khansah, sending a clear message to young and impressionable girls about their future role as the mothers of shahids. Al-Khansah was also honored in the Palestinian Authority's recognition of International Women's Day in the form of a televised play and official sermon. Because of her status as a role model, Um Nidal is once again in the news. She has been chosen to be a candidate on the Hamas list in the upcoming Palestinian Authority parliamentary elections. It is striking, and indicative of the very nature of Palestinian society as one that accepts and values terror as a way of life, that a woman could be chosen to be a legislator solely by virtue of her celebration of her son's terrorism and death. running in the elections to disarm and recognize Israel's right to exist.

the terror organization again declares that it will not give up its armed
struggle until Israel is destroyed.
The release of the new video on the Hamas website, reiterating its goal of destroying Israel, coincides with two polls this week showing Hamas turning into a major political force, with between 32% - 45% of Palestinians saying they will vote for Hamas in January's parliamentary elections. What are the implications for peace, should nearly 50% of the Palestinian Authority parliament be open supporters of Israel's destruction? It will be interesting to see if the continuing Hamas election campaign calling for Israel's destruction will prompt a change in United States or European Union policy. Presently the US State Department has made clear that while it continues to transfer hundreds of millions of dollars of support to the PA, it will make no demands on it to prevent the Hamas from participating in the upcoming elections. The EU and United Nations have also agreed that Hamas can participate in the elections. The following are the words on the new Hamas video:
Abbas Approves Grants to By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - December 6, 2005 The Palestinian Authority yesterday revealed a new law that allocates money to family members of shahids, or 'martyrs.' A shahid is the highest honor attainable to a Muslim, and signifies a death for Allah. The Palestinian Authority regularly labels suicide terrorists as 'shahids.' Following the translation of the article is a list of some terrorist shahids honored by the Palestinian Authority. Under the new law, the families of these terrorists will receive monthly payments.
From PMW Archives Suicide terrorists are called shahids by the Palestinian Authority and, under the new law, their families will be receiving Palestinian Authority monthly payments. In August this year, Palestinian Media Watch revealed that the Palestinian Authority Ministry of Culture released, as its official 'Book of the Month,' a collection of poems named in honor of Hanadi Jaradat, a terrorist 'shahida' who murdered 21 people in Haifa's Maxim restaurant in October 2003. Likewise, on July 25 this year, the Palestinian Authority's official paper labelled as shahids two terrorists who were killed after murdering an Israeli civilian couple two days previously. Two weeks before that, Palestinian Media Watch noted that a course for women, sponsored by the Palestinian Authority's ruling party Fatah, had been named in honor of the first woman suicide bomber, the 'Shahida' Wafa Idris. This followed an established pattern of many years in which Idris has been honored by the Palestinian Authority - including in a "course in democracy and human rights." Details can be seen here. In July 2003, the Palestinian Authority organised a football (soccer) tournament named in honor of the suicide bomber 'shahid' that murdered 29 people on Passover Eve in Netanya's Park Hotel. Under the new law, the families of these murderers will receive money from the Palestinian Authority. PA on Terror: "Condemns"
By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook - December 5, 2005 The Palestinian Authority continues to speak about terror with two voices. In English, it publicly condemns terrorists when attacks are committed, but its pronouncements in Arabic turn terrorists into heroes and role models for PA society. In PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas' Arabic-language condemnation of Monday's deadly suicide attack in Netanya, his reason for this condemnation is significant:
On the surface, that Abbas condemned the terrorist attack might be welcomed by Western observers. But it must be noted that PA political leaders have always been careful to specify that they're not condemning terrorism because it's wrong, but rather because it hurts Palestinian interests. In this case, Abbas's denunciation of the attack refers to the damage it caused the PA, not to the terror victims and their families. But even beyond this particular pattern of cleverly-worded condemnations, the policy within PA society continues to honor and glorify terrorists and turn them into role models. The case of the veneration of Fatah terrorist Al-Moayed Bihokmillah Al-Agha is a good example. When the PA opened the Rafah Crossing (between Gaza and Egypt) last week, many in the West saw it as a concrete step towards Palestinian statehood. For the PA, however, it was another opportunity to turn a murderer into a hero. Al-Agha was killed when carrying out an attack at the Rafah crossing, in which five Israelis were killed, in December 2004. The PA's ruling party Fatah features Al-Agha in a clip that glorifies violence and terror, and still shows the murderous attacks on its Fatah Falcons website a year after the attack. The American news network CNN's coverage of the crossing's reopening last month showed footage of a giant sign erected over the site, which declares the crossing's name to be in honor of the Shahid (Martyr) Al-Agha, and refers to his murderous attack with the thrilling name, "Volcanoes of Rage." That the PA allowed such a sign to be erected at the site is a powerful message to Palestinians, emphasizing once again that terrorists are heroes. The symbol, as well as an identical picture of Al-Agha, are more clearly seen on the following image, currently on the Fatah Falcons' website.
Important Symbolism The Fatah Falcons symbol is similar to many symbols found in the Palestinian Authority, including the official symbol of Fatah. It includes: 1 - a map of the entire land of
Israel; Combined, these three symbols are clear in their message: The ultimate goal is the destruction of Israel through violence. The Dome of the Rock adds a potent Islamic symbolism. This message has remained essentially unchanged since the formation of the PLO in 1965. Honoring terrorism This approach to creating terrorist heroes by naming infrastructures for them has long been a Palestinian Authority practice. Examples include:
As long as the PA features exciting, terror-promoting videos on its websites, and names streets, schools, summer camps and tournaments after terrorists, its isolated condemnations of terror attacks - worded to placate Western leaders - will be long forgotten by Palestinians, while the infrastructures of hate and terror will last and reverberate. This leaves lasting impressions on PA youth and creates a new generation of PA terrorists waiting for another target. |
