“The
Protocols of the Elders of Zion” alive and well
in official PA ideology Introduction
Jan 25, 2001
Introduction
The Palestinian Authority leadership often uses classical anti-Semitic
sources to promote hatred of Israel among its population. Among other
libels, Israel is said to be following the principles set down in
the “Protocol’s of the Elders of Zion”. Today the
official PA daily on its special weekly “Political National
Education” page again reverts to the infamous “Protocol’s”
to explain Israeli policy, even citing the precise quotes from protocols
2 and 12:
PA
Daily:
"Morale
and psychological manipulation has a significant place in the minds
of Jews, and formed a very important source of strength in the "Hebrew
State"…
Disinformation has been one of the bases of morale and psychological
manipulation among the Israelis, and propaganda played an important
role in the psychological prodding of world political leaders to support
Zionism…
The "Protocol's of the Elders of Zion" did not ignore the
importance of using propaganda to promote the Zionist goals. In the
second protocol is written: "Through the newspapers we will have
the means to propel and to influence". In the twelfth protocol:
"Our governments will hold the reins of most of the newspapers,
and through this plan we will possess the primary power to turn to
public opinion." [Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, official
PA daily, Jan 25 2001]
Protocols of The Elders of Zion Cited as the Strategy
for Zionist Activity Over the Last Century
July 11, 2001
Introduction
The Protocols of the Elders of Zion have emerged again in the Palestinian
dialectic. Under the title "Protocols of the Elders of Zion Alive
and Well in the Palestinian Authority", PMW reported, in January
of this year, of the use of the protocols to paint a rationale for
Israeli activity, specifically in the context of accusing Israel of
attempts to control and manipulate the international press. Between
holocaust denials and accusations of Nazi-type behavior, reference
to the protocols crop up from time to time as if they really exist.

the history, oh Arabs!"

and the Jews received a "legitimate" right, recognized by

"And we, oh Arabs, couldn't understand during these years.

“The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”
- in Palestinian Authority ideology
November 5, 2002
The
Egyptian 40 part TV series connecting the State of Israel’s
founding to the principles of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion
triggered worldwide interest and outrage. This series broadcast every
day during the month of Ramadan “…on 22 Arab stations,
among them Egypt 2, Syria, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Iraq, Lebanon and other
Arab states.” [Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida,
November 1, 2002]
This
depiction of the infamous libel as a true Jewish conspiracy is not
new to the residents of the Palestinian Authority [PA], where the
"Protocols" has been presented as the reason for the creation
of the State of Israel and the guide for Israeli policy. The Egyptian
production likewise depicts the "Protocols" as the Zionist
guide creating the State of Israel, as stage in ruling the world.
The production describes how an Arab fighting the British discovered
"The Protocols of the Elders of Zion" and realizes "that
the true enemy is not the British. Zionist groups in Egypt learn that
the book is in his possession and attempt to murder him in order to
retrieve the book and prevent its distribution." [Official
PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, November 1, 2002]
The
following are examples of the use of the “Protocols” in
PA media and education over recent years. It should be noted how the
Palestinians, including academics, present the forgery as a truthful
plot upon which Zionism is based. The final article below is from
this week’s official PA daily presenting its views about the
TV series and the historical truth of the “Protocols”.
1.
The official PA daily in its “Political National Education”
page, cited precise quotes from Protocols 2 and 12 to explain Israeli
policy:
"Morale and psychological manipulation has a significant place
in the minds of Jews, and formed a very important source of strength
in the "Hebrew State"… Disinformation has been one
of the bases of morale and psychological manipulation among the Israelis…
The "Protocols of the Elders of Zion" did not ignore the
importance of using propaganda to promote the Zionist goals.
“The second protocol reads: ‘Through the newspapers we
will have the means to propel and to influence’.
“In the twelfth protocol: ‘Our governments will hold the
reins of most of the newspapers, and through this plan we will possess
the primary power to turn to public opinion.’
[Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, January 25,
2001]
2.
In this article as well the “Protocols” are presented
as the Jews’ road map in building Israel:
“Remember the history, oh Arabs!
“...I focused on important dates in the world of the Zionism
and the Arabs:
“1. In 1897 the first Zionist Congress was held in Basel...
“2. In 1907 the actual immigration operation began...
“3. In 1917 the woeful declaration of Balfour was made...
"9. In 1977 the visit which shocked the Arab Nation occurred,
the President of Egypt visited Israel...
"Every ten years, a vital aim is achieved. These are the Protocols
of the Elders of Zion, of a century, from 1897 till 1997. They have
planned and accomplished. Every ten years, another aim was achieved,
proving their continuity and their power.”
[Al Quds, July 10, 2001]
3.
In this article in the official PA daily, America as well is following
the dictates of the "Protocols”
“The hero of this movie, which concluded last Saturday, was
the former American President Bill Clinton, and the theater of events,
as we said, was the entire world including the Middle East ... out
of prejudice in favor of a racist state that is foreign to it, that
is the State of Israel, which, from the outset, could not have held
its own if not for the continuous American efforts which incessantly
implemented the Protocols of Zion …”
[Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, February 18,
2001]
4.
Israeli military action is defined as following the script of the
“Protocols”
“The purpose of the military policy is to impose this situation
on the residents and force them to leave their homes, and this is
done in the framework of the Protocols of Zion...”
[Official PA daily, Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, November 18,
2001]
5.
The Jews changed the Bible, wrote the Talmud and concluded with the
Protocols:
Sheikh Attiyeh Sahar, Chairman of the Department of Islamic Research
in The Al-Zahar University:
“It must be known that this nation, the Jews, are willing of
mind soul to alter their religion in order to attain their demands.
This is rooted deep in their history.
“We know that after our master, Moses, delivered them from the
hands of Pharaoh and took them through the sea; then they found a
nation of idol-worshippers, and they said to Moses: ‘make us
a God like theirs’. They alienated the God that saved them and
willed to worship idols… These things show us that these people,
in order to attain their goals, are willing to turn away from their
God and His Singularity, which was introduced to the world by their
prophets. We also know that they changed the Bible and replaced it,
because It does not serve their purposes, and they drafted the Talmud,
as it is known, and came up, finally, with the Protocols of the Elders
of Zion.”
[Palestinian Authority TV, September 10, 2000]
6.
PA academics and historians refer to the Protocols as a truthful Jewish
plot on PA educational television.
Dr. Issam Sissalem, History professor at the Islamic University and
host of an history program on PA educational TV:
A viewer, Dr., Attallah Abu Al-Farah, calling in: “Can there
be, in practice, co-existence on Palestinian land between ourselves
and the Jews, in light of their mentality which stems from the Protocols
of the Elders of Zion, Dr. Issam?”
Sissalem: “This question comes from ‘My Beloved Friend’.
I say: Dr. Attallah, who is a learned expert….” [Palestinian
Authority TV, May 14, 1999]
7.
The following is the recent article in the PA press referring to the
circumstances of the discovery of the “Protocols” and
the new Egyptian TV series.
“The Egyptian actor said to the France Press news agency that
the series does not answer the question of truth or lie in the book
“The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”, and said ‘What
Israel is doing on the land of Palestine is more severe than the book.’
There are contradictory claims as to the truth of the book ‘The
Protocols of the Elders of Zion’ and the widespread supposition
is that in 1870 Russian intelligence uncovered a book of Jewish elders’
plots to take control of the world. In Jewish circles, however, this
is vehemently denied and they accuse the security apparatus of Czar
Alexander II of having written the book in order to inflame anti-Semitism,
which was prominent then in Russia…
“Subhi [main actor] added: ‘I attach no importance to
all that was said and will be said by the Americans and the Israelis,
nor to the accusations directed at the series, and I am proud of the
Egyptian government whose Minister of Information, Saffwat Al-Sharif,
defends the freedom of artistic expression and thought.’
“Subhi said that the Minister of Information stressed that our
society does not attack other religions. He clarified that the Egyptian
Censorship Committee previewed the series and found nothing that counters
our values or other religions.
“He added: ‘We know that the book around which this storm
rages was prohibited for a hundred years, because they were operating
under cover, and now they are operating openly. However, we do not
pass judgment on this book; whether it is truth or forgery. We direct
our interest at the Zionist movement, which cast its net to rob a
land from its people...
“Baghdadi [the writer] summarizes his position saying: ‘we
have no problem with the Jews, but we are against the Racism of the
Zionists…”

The Protocols of the Elders of Zion on Egyptian
Television
November 6, 2002
These
pictures are the depictions of Jews - "The Elders of Zion"
at their conspiratory meetings.

Chapter 1
The first chapter of the 40 part Egyptian TV series “Knight
Without a Horse”, which depicts Zionism as part of the Jewish
plot to rule the world that was laid out in the Protocols of the Elders
of Zion, was broadcast today, the first day of Ramadan.
The
first chapter of the series being broadcast today [November 6, 2000]
on 22 stations in the Arab world, opens in “Palestine 1948”
- showing Arab refugees walking in the desert.
Narrator: “The Zionists bought the world’s conscience
with money ..
“There was a major conspiracy…
“People do not know the secrets.”
An old man with a book begins to tell the unknown secrets and his
story starts back in 1855 with the life of his father, the hero of
the story, as a 5 year old. The opening plot shows the child, Nagib,
being kidnapped by a Turkish nobleman who wants to raise him in his
home. The film is clearly contrasting the simple goodness of the common
Egyptian with the wealth, arrogance and distance of the Turkish nobleman.
There
are no further references to Jews or Zionism in this chapter. PMW
will update the Egyptian series as it develops.
Chapter 2
The
40 part series continues, as the background for the main theme - the
discovery of the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” - is
still being developed.
Summary:
The
years pass and the young child Najib, still living in the mansion
of the nobleman who kidnapped him, grows into an ambitious and talented
adolescent.
The
nobleman’s wife’s jewelry is stolen and Najib is blamed.
The family demands he return the jewels and only the nobleman’s
daughter, Malak, stands by him. In the end, the jewels are found and
Najib is vindicated.
More
years pass, Najib is now an army officer, and he and Malak are in
love. The nobleman’s wife vehemently opposes their marriage,
and the chapter ends with this theme.

Egyptian Viewers Anxious for Protocols of the
Elders of Zion
November 12, 2002
Through 6 chapters of the Egyptian production "Knight without
a Horse", the anti Semitic theme of the "Protocols of the
Elders of Zion" has not yet developed, causing complaints among
the Arab viewers. Today's PA daily Al-Hayat Al-Jadida describes how
Egyptian cafes are packed with viewers watching the series who are
impatient for the anti-Israel theme:
“At
midnight, patrons of one of the popular cafes in Egypt’s capitol
awaited the broadcast of the disputed TV series ‘Knight without
a Horse’. … Within minutes the clientele, who filled the
cafe to the limit, turned their attention from the TV series and concentrated
on sipping the local black tea and inhaling deeply from the nargila...
Aatef, a 35 year-old man complained: ‘I thought I would see
[lead actor] Muhammad Subhi fighting Jews, not some story from 100
years ago!’…”
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, November 12, 2002]
It is interesting
to note that although the “Protocols” theme has yet to
develop, it was the theme that was used in the visual promos to advertise
the series in the Arab world. Apparently the producers assumed correctly,
that focusing on the “Protocols” in the promo would bring
a large viewing audience.
Regarding the“Protocols” theme, a Lebanese paper informs
that it will begin shortly:
“The Lebanese newspaper Al-Safeer reports that the series ‘will
move to the Zionist issue in the coming episodes… The series
will move to the Arab Jewish conflict through the ‘Protocols
of the Elders of Zion’, the document that the protagonist seeks.”
[Al-Hayat Al-Jadida, November 12, 2002]
PMW will
translate all Protocols and anti Zionist material and will have subtitled
video material available daily on our web site daily as the Anti Zionism
and Protocols themes develop.
The
following is a very brief summary of the plot as it has developed
since our last update:
Summary
of Chapters 3 - 6
After much family dispute, the Nobleman and his wife,
Anourin, agree to Najib’s marriage to their daughter Malak,
but Anourin prohibits Najib’s family from attending the wedding.
Anourin keeps close watch over her daughter and Najib, who live in
the mansion with the family, noting their moves and eavesdropping
on their conversations. She incites the family against Najib, and
has him expelled to Sudan. Anourin then banishes her then pregnant
daughter to live with the servants.
Malak gives
birth to their baby, a boy they name Hafez. (Hafez is the elderly
narrator who in chapter 1 began the story, telling of his father's
kidnapping as a child by the Turkish nobleman in Egypt.) Anourin orders
that the baby be kept out of the mansion. Najib’s family misses
his wife, Malak, and child. After several years, Malak dies of grief.
Hafez is taken in and grows up in the mansion with the family.
The nobleman,
Hafez’ grandfather, dies. The banished Najib comes back from
Sudan and plans to take his son back. He secretly makes contact with
the boy and one day appears on horseback, takes Hafez from the mansion
and rides with him to his parents’ home where the boy is joyfully
received.
Anourin
comes to Najib’s family’s home accompanied by soldiers
looking for her grandson, Hafez, but Hafez paints his face black and
she doesn’t recognize him.
When the
Urabi Revolution (1882) against the Turkish ruling class and against
the British presence fails, the British conquer Egypt. Hafez is 13
years old. He joins the resistance to the British, enters a British
military camp, ostensibly to pick up the garbage, but plants a bomb,
blowing it up.

First Appearance of
the Protocols of the Elders of Zion in Egypt's "Knight Without
a Horse"
November 14, 2002
Introduction
The theme of the Protocols of the Elders of Zion enters
the plot in today’s chapter of the Egyptian series “ Knight
Without a Horse”.
Three old
Jews with long gray beards and large black Kippot [Skull Caps] are
sitting in a room filled with religious symbols, numerous burning
candles, including two Menorah’s [7 branched candelabras - reminiscent
of the Menorah of the Temple.] They are shown whispering, in conspiring
manner, about “the book” the Protocols of the Elders of
Zion. The Jews are expressing their fear that “the book”
may reach Egypt from Russia where there are numerous copies, and will
lead to its being publicized in Egypt. Their immediate problem is
that one copy of “the book” is about to reach Egypt -
with a woman named Margaret - and they are conspiring to prevent it
from reaching the general public.
Various options are discussed, including threatening Margaret.
Following is the dialogue among the Jews:
The scene From
the program:
Elderly
Jews with skullcaps sitting around a table, religious symbols, Menorahs
above them and around the room.
Ovad: “The Others are Hell. Our problem is the Goyim, those
who are not Jews. The problem right now is Margaret. We must be sure
that the book is in her possession, Yitzhak.”
Yitzhak: “My information confirms that Dr. Edward, her husband,
smuggled it out of Russia and intends to bring it into Egypt.”
Binyamin: “This is a catastrophe.”
Ovad: “Our group in Russia confirmed that all of the copies
of the book “The Protocols of Elders of Zion” have been
taken from the market.”
Yitzhak: There is another edition of the book , Binyamin, from 1905,
last year. In two days all the copies disappeared from the market.
It is a false version.”
Ovad: What about them? What can we do about that one book?”
Yitzhak? “The British know what the contents of the book are,
but if the Egyptians find out there will be more trouble than there
was in Russia. It can publicly expose our plans.”
Binyamin: “Our group can spread rumors throughout Egypt that
the book is a forgery.”
Yitzhak: “Our problem is that someone will read the book and
fit the contents to what we are trying to accomplish, and will believe
in [its truth] thoroughly”
Ovad: What shall we do?”
Yitzhak”: “Go to Margaret, exploit her interests to our
benefit. Maybe she will suffice with having read [the book] and you
can take it from her.If she denies or refuses, she will be exposing
herself to big trouble that is beyond her capacity.”
De legitimization of Zionism begins
November 15, 2002
Introduction and Commentary - Chapter 10
“Knight Without a Horse” continues with the Protocols
and its connection to Zionism taking a more prominent role in the
story, while the first seeds of the developing de legitimization of
Zionism theme are appearing. This theme is running parallel to the
central theme of the early chapter of Hafez’s fighting against
the British.
Zionism’s
introduction to the series needs some background explanation. A foundation
of Palestinian and certain Arab ideology is that modern Jewry has
no historical connection to the Land of Israel, and that the Jewish
search for a Homeland - to escape anti Semitism - was not centered
on returning to Israel, but any country would have sufficed. It was
British imperial interest, attempting to prevent Arab unification,
that directed and implanted the Zionist “cancer” in Palestinian,
according to Palestinian ideology and teaching.

Note the following discussion between two senior Palestinian academics,
on educational Palestinian Authority broadcast:
Program:
“Pages from our History”
Dr. Jarir Al-Kidwah [Arafat Advisor on Education and Head of the PA
Public Library]:
“The Europeans were afraid of Arab unity, which would have hurt
their colonialism in our region, and so they decided... to prevent
Arab unity by placing a foreign body in the heart of the Arab nation,
and that is the Zionist body manifested by the Jews in Palestine...”
Dr.
Issam Sissalem [Senior Historian and Educational TV host]:
“…The Zionists and Colonialists met in Brussels and decided
to establish a cancer in the land of Alshaam [Greater Syria],.. They
[the Jews] thought of Uganda, Cyprus, Argentina. Palestine was not
a goal... But British interests caused the establishment of this cancer
here... hence the Crusader wars continue...”
Dr.
Issam Sissalem: “…In 1927 they named the region
“the Land of Israel.”
Moderator:
“…We hope our nation will be able to overcome the cursed
Balfour Declaration ...” [PA
TV November 9, 2000]
This false
depiction of Zionism in Israel having started as a British initiative
for imperial purposes is the basis for the discussion in this episode:
Hafez’'s
grandfather says: “...The British do not take only
Egypt, but every country they want... people should know that there
is there is a huge conspiracy against the whole Moslem nation...”
A newspaper editor asks a group about the book “The Protocols
of the Elders of Zion”. One of them answers that there are secret
groups all over the world trying to prevent its distribution, in order
to prevent disclosure of the Jewish schemes but another says that
the whole story is fabricated.
Scene
of the Jewish Elders:
An unnamed Jew with no beard: “Britain will help us. Herzl said
we should direct our efforts to Britain so it will give its patronage
to the Zionist movement”
…
Another: “Can’t you convince Britain to give us Sinai,
as a national homeland?”
Another: “And why was Herzl’s proposal that we settle
in Uganda at the Sixth Zionist Congress refused? Britain did not support
this proposal.”
Guest: “Britain has own interests. ...”
Elder: “In the Seventh Congress we decided about establishing
a national homeland for us only in Palestine!”
Guest: “Of course it will happen. England has interest in our
presence in Palestine. It will prevent all Arab or Moslem Union, and
it will isolate Egypt from the Levant (Greater Syria). ...”
Elder:
If the British occupy Palestine, it will be easier to take control
of it.
A man complains about all the years that were lost.
Elder”: The time is not important. What is important... is we
should reach our goal!”
The episode
ends with Hafez, the hero fighting the British, meeting Margaret,
who we know from the previous episode has a copy of the Protocols.
Jews Scheme to Prevent
Exposure of the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion"
November 17, 2002
Attention
Video footage of the show's depiction of Jews can be viewed by clicking
the following link: "Protocols" footage
Introduction
The plot continues describing the Jews’ attempts to prevent
the exposure of the contents of the Protocols. The elderly Jews come
to Margaret to convince her to give them the book. The Jews continue
to be presented as scheming, extorting, and threatening. They threaten
Princess Margaret, unsuccessfully, and even kidnap Hafez, who has
stolen the book.
The
Jews, as portrayed in the series Margaret holding "The Protocols",
in Russian:
Transcripts
and summaries from this weekend's episodes:
Margaret:
“I don't have anything for you.”
Benjamin, an ‘Elder’: “We are sure of it, Princess
Margaret. Look; the book was not smuggled out of Egypt, it was smuggled
into Egypt.”
Margaret: “I told you, I don't know anything about that book.
And besides, I don't see why it is so important and frightening.”
The other Jew: “This book is very important to us, because ten
thousand Jews in Russia were killed on its account.”
Margaret: “I heard” [in English].
Jew: “But we are friends, and I am British. And we have the
same interests… If it is reprinted, it will cause great damage
both to ourselves, and yourselves.”
Margaret: “Please, don't pin the responsibility for this on
me, and don't speak to me as if I were a criminal... This is extortion.”
Jew “We are not extorting you.”
Benjamin: “I'm asking you, don't force us into it.”
Margaret: “I will not have you threaten me!”
“Out [in English]”
Jew: “... And tell your husband, Edward, that we are willing
to purchase the book, at any price!”
Margaret: “Out! Get out! [in English]”
The men leave. Margaret picks up the books and its title is visible
in Russian: “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion”.
Hafez, the hero fighting the British, promptly steals the book, which
leads to his being kidnapped by the Jews who demand the book.
He asks why it is so important. Tauntingly, he queries: "Is this
book about sex??"
And they explain: “about... a new technique to produce soap.”
Hafez is
freed and decides he wants the Protocols translated from the Russian.
"The Jew’s racist plan to rule
all of humanity"
by Itamar Marcus, November
20-21, 2002
Introduction
The Egyptian government claim that the Egyptian TV series “Knight
Without a Horse” is not Anti Semitic is contradicted by today’s
episode in which the vicious Anti Semitic theme begins to come into
focus. In today’s episode the “Jewish book” the
“Protocols of the Elders of Zion” is said to have “frightening
ideas of gangsters” and “racist… plans and conspiracies
to rule the world”, containing “enmity to the whole of
humanity”. This, of course, is the essential lie that was made
when the original forgery was distributed. This lie has been used
by enemies of the Jews since then to justify hatred and persecution
of Jews in the name of self defense.
The Jews
in the story continue be depicted as evil, as they scheme to murder
the story’s heroes in order to get the book, and even threaten
to murder each other.
Finally,
the show continues to present Zionism as a part of the “Elders
of Zion” conspiracy. The book is to be translated into Arabic
in order to warn the Arab of the Jews plans.
Hafez receives
the translation of "The Protocols of the Elders of Zion"

The following is the summary of the episodes 15 -16.
Episode
15
Hafez gives his copy of the “protocols” to a woman to
translate. Meanwhile, the Jewish “Elders”, still searching
for the book, visit the home of Dr. Edward and Margaret and are told
that Hafez has the book. The Jews return to their assembly hall, with
tables chairs and a menorah.
Jacob: “We shall kill him, we shall kill Hafez.”…
Isaac: “Maybe it was Margaret?”
Jacob: “We'll kill her, kill her.”
Isaac: “Killing Margaret and Hafez, without having the book
first, would be stupidity.”
Benjamin: “We must first ascertain who has the book, Hafez or
Margaret?”
Isaac: “If the book is exposed, I'll kill you and Jacob, Benjamin.”
Episode
16
Hafez asks the book’s translator about the details: “What
about the book of the Protocols?”
She replies: “It is frightening. At first it seemed like surrealistic
ideas of gangsters. Afterwards, I was shocked! What is shocking are
the plans and conspiracies to rule the world, with racist ideas which
express enmity to the whole of humanity”.
Hafez asks her to make a written translation of the whole book in
Arabic.
Hafez decides to take the “Protocols” to Palestine. He
tells his assistant: “…take the translated book. The people
of Palestine should know of the conspiracy against them now”.
Egyptian production
of the “Protocols” libel
parallels Arab Schoolbook lessons
by Itamar Marcus, Nov. 24, 2002
This weekend’s episodes bring the Arab viewers the first readings
from the “actual texts” of the “Protocols of the
Elders of Zion”. These readings from the “Protocols”
present the Jews as scheming to destabilize the world, by promoting
ethnic, religious and national conflict, throughout the world, both
internally within groups and vis a vis their neighbor states. These
worldwide conflicts the Jews initiate will distract the non- Jewish
world from trying to take action against the Jews, according to the
text of the “Protocols”.
It is important
to note that this depiction of Jews as scheming to cause unrest in
the world is a frequent component of Palestinian and Arab anti Semitism,
even appearing in Arab education as character traits of the Jews.
For Example, the following appears in a Jordanian and Palestinian
schoolbook:
“Why do the Jews hate Muslim unity and want to cause division
among them? Give an example of the evil attempts of the Jews, from
events happening today.” [Islamic Education for Seventh Grade
p.19, in use at least through the year 2000.]
Another
Arab libel, similar to the “Protocols” libel, appearing
in an 11th grade schoolbook, is the fabrication of a fictitious, racist
quote, that the Arab schoolbooks falsely claim is from the Talmud.
This fictitious quote, appearing in Jordanian and PA schoolbooks,
likewise accuses the Jews of planning to destabilize the world for
their own gain.
The following is the fabrication of the racist “Talmudic
quote”:
“It
is mentioned in the Talmud: “We [the Jews] are God’s people
on earth…We must marry our beautiful daughters with kings, ministers
and lords and enter our sons into the various religions, thus, we
will have the final word in managing the countries. We should cheat
them [the non-Jews] and arouse quarrels among them, then they fight
each other… Non Jews are pigs who God created in the shape of
man in order that they be fit for service for the Jews...”
[The Contemporary History of the Arabs and the World,
p.120, in use at least through 2001]
In addition
the weekend chapters continue the libel that Zionism follows the plot
laid out in the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion".
Summary
of Chapters 18- 19 November 23-24, 2002
The Jews
continue to seek Hafez's copy of the "Protocols" not knowing
he has already started translating it.
Hafez
to his friends [after reading a letter] :
“This
letter is very important. The situation in Palestine has become worse.
The Jewish immigration, land purchases, and homesteading are frightening.
A Zionist organization, led by Arthur Rupin, built a neighborhood
in Jaffa for Jews only, called Tel Aviv.”
His friend: “We cannot ignore this. We should connect this with
what we translated from the book about Zion.”
Hafez: “Yes. It is important to translate the rest of the book
...”
The
translated text of the "Protocols" is read by Galila to
Hammed, Hafez’ blind relative : [From the "text"
of the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion":]
“We
have spread the seeds of conflict between men in all fields of life:
personal and national, by spreading religious and tribal fanaticism,
dispute and conflict among the faithful of the same religion."
“We will increase ethnic chauvinism. Governments will hesitate
to help their neighbors resist us, since each will be convinced that
any action against us will be disastrous for itself”.
Galila, horrified by the text of the Protocols, asks “What is
this, Sheikh Hammed? Those who wrote this must be insane. Who gave
you this paper?”
Hammed: "May Allah protect him and guide his steps, it was the
Fox!" [A pseudonym for Hafez]
Anti-Semitism in
"Knight Without a Horse"
by Itamar Marcus, Nov. 26, 2002
Egyptian President Husni Mubarak’s claim in a letter to Israel’s
President Moshe Katzav, that the Egyptian TV series “Knight
Without a Horse” is not anti-Semitic is false, as vicious anti-Semitic
themes have already appeared. In episode 16 the “Jewish book”
the “Protocols of the Elders of Zion” is said to be: “…frightening.
At first it seemed like surrealistic ideas of gangsters…. What
is shocking are the plans and conspiracies to rule the world, with
racist ideas which express enmity to the whole of humanity”.
This, of
course, is the essential lie that was made when the original forgery
was distributed. This lie has been used by enemies of the Jews since
then to justify hatred and persecution of Jews in the name of self
defense.
In one
episode, “actual texts” from the “Protocols of the
Elders of Zion” were read, presenting the Jews as scheming to
destabilize the world, by promoting ethnic, religious and national
conflict, throughout the world, both internally within groups and
vis a vis their neighbor states. These worldwide conflicts the Jews
initiate will distract the non-Jewish world from trying to take action
against the Jews, according to the text of the “Protocols”.
The
following are quotes, said to be from the “Protocols”:
“We
have spread the seeds of conflict between men in all fields of life:
personal and national, by spreading religious and tribal fanaticism,
dispute and conflict among the faithful of the same religion."
“We will increase ethnic chauvinism. Governments will hesitate
to help their neighbors resist us, since each will be convinced that
any action against us will be disastrous for itself”.
Zionism
is de legitimized, as the show presents it as a part of the “Elders
of Zion” conspiracy. In episode 16 the book is to be translated
into Arabic in order to warn the Arab of the Jews’ plans: “…take
the translated book. The people of Palestine should know of the conspiracy
against them now”.
The Jews
in the story, older men with long gray beards and large black skullcaps,
are depicted as evil. They scheme to murder the story’s heroes
in order to get the book, and even threaten to murder each other.
Jacob: “We shall kill him, we shall kill Hafez.”…
Isaac: “Maybe it was Margaret?”
Jacob: “We'll kill her, kill her.”
Isaac: “Killing Margaret and Hafez, without
having the book first, would be stupidity.”
Benjamin: “We must first ascertain who has
the book, Hafez or Margaret?”
Isaac: “If the book is exposed, I'll kill you
and Jacob, Benjamin.”
The series
further asserts: “…there are secret groups all over the
world trying to prevent its distribution, in order to prevent disclosure
of the Jewish schemes…”
as well as: “Our problem is that someone will read the book
and fit the contents to what we are trying to accomplish, and will
believe in [its truth] thoroughly”.
In short,
less than half way through the series, the Egyptian production presents
the protocols as the Jewish racist conspiracy to rule all of humanity.
Egyptian President Husni Mubarak’s claim that the series is
void of any anti-Semitism is false.
