The following article in a Norwegian daily reports on PMW Director Itamar Marcus' presentation of a report to members of the Norwegian Parliament which linked Norwegian funding to PA hate propaganda.

Norway finances Israel-hate
Dagen Magazinet (Norwegian daily), Oct. 23, 2008
The director of Palestinian Media Watch, Itamar Marcus, met Wednesday with members of Parliament of the Christian Democratic Party and the Progress Party to whom he presented a new, detailed and sensational report about how Norwegian money is spent on the official hate propaganda against Israel.
With example after example Marcus documents how Fatah and Hamas use children's TV to spread anti-Israeli hate propaganda, to glorify suicide bombers and to encourage children to follow in the footsteps of the terrorists in order to "liberate" the "occupied" Palestine.

Controlled by Abbas
"The TV broadcasts are controlled from the top, which means that Fatah's children's TV is controlled by President Mahmoud Abbas. A lot of the Norwegian aid of 790 million kroner in 2008 is channeled to precisely President Abbas and the running of his office in Ramallah. The propaganda we see today had not existed were it not approved from the top," says Itamar Marcus.
He shows one video after another with examples of anti Israeli propaganda in children's TV, music videos and descriptions of geography and history in Palestinian schoolbooks.
"Jonas Gahr Støre does not know what the Norwegian money is used for," is the clear message from Marcus. That stands in stark contrast to a recent response by the Foreign Minister to a question he received in Parliament from Ingebrigt Sørfonn (Chr. Dem) on Sept 26:

Støre's idealisation
"It seems that this type of feature [glorifying a terrorist] in a children's program is not common and that this [PA-Fatah] channel cannot be said to engage in indoctrination of children or denying Israel's right to exist. Fatah and the Palestinian Authority are prepared to find a peaceful solution to the conflict with Israel," said (FM) Støre.
Itamar Marcus presents recent examples to the contrary, most of them from children's programs of Fatah ... from the last few months, which use a rhetoric that seems taken directly from the persecution of the Jews during WW2: Israel intentionally spreads AIDS and drugs, burns children in ovens, attack pregnant women, conduct dangerous medical experiments on prisoners and has released giant rats in Jerusalem. Jesus is made a Muslim believer and a Palestinian. Suicide bombers are glorified and children are encouraged to follow in their footsteps. Israel does not exist on any map of the Middle East, or should be erased from the surface of the earth.
"Their purpose is to get hold of children while they are young and shape them in the way they want. No, it does not seem like Jonas Gahr Støre knows what he helps financing," says Itamar Marcus.

Mickey Mouse Again

 Disney images adorn studio
while mass murderer glorified
By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook, Sept. 9, 2008

Palestinian Authority (Fatah) TV is using the universally beloved characters of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Winnie the Pooh and Piglet in an attempt to create a Disney-like studio --  while teaching children to glorify a mass murderer whose victims included 12 children. In a new official PA TV studio built for a Ramadan children's program, the smiling images of Mickey and Minnie Mouse, Pooh and Piglet are the backdrop for a TV quiz that this week venerated a notorious terrorist.

The female terrorist, Dalal Mughrabi, participated in the murders of 12 children and 25 adults in a 1978 bus attack in Israel. In this quiz, Mughrabi is idolized as the "beloved bride, daughter of Jaffa, jasmine flower," while figures of Mickey and Minnie Mouse are prominent in the background -- as if it were a Disney program.

[PA TV (Fatah), Sept. 4-6, 2008]

In May 2007, PMW reported that the Hamas TV network was using a Mickey Mouse character to teach children to seek world Islamic domination. The widespread international outrage prompted Al Aqsa TV to get rid of the character (they showed him being beaten to death by an Israeli officer) and replace him with another animal host.

Now Fatah TV, controlled by the office of PA head Mahmoud Abbas, is airing a children's show that glorifies a mass murderer of children while trying to create a Mickey Mouse Club atmosphere.

The world did not put up with Hamas's use of the iconic Mickey Mouse to brainwash children. Will the same international pressure be brought upon Mahmud Abbas and the official Palestinian Authority to stop using these beloved characters to sell terror?

PA TV children's quiz:

Teaching about

 a world without Israel

By Itamar Marcus and Barbara Crook, Sept. 3, 2008

Palestinian children are taught through formal and informal education to see a world in which the state of "Palestine" exists and replaces all of Israel. A children's quiz broadcast this week on Fatah-controlled Palestinian Authority television shows how thoroughly Palestinian children have absorbed this message.

Children on the TV program routinely identified every Israeli city and landmark as part of the State of "Palestine." Haifa, Ashdod and Eilat are described as Palestinian ports, the Sea of Galilee is said to be a Palestinian lake, and the area of the Palestinian state is said to be 27,000 square kilometers. In fact, the total area of Gaza and the West Bank totals 6,200 square kilometers, so the only way to come up with the larger measurement is to include undisputed Israeli territory in the calculation. The "State of Palestine" is said to border Lebanon and the Red Sea; in fact, these are Israel's borders.

In an unsettling reminder of the 2007 Hamas children's TV program that used a Mickey Mouse character to preach hatred and world Islamic domination, the child host of this week's PATV (Fatah) program is sitting in front of a photo of Mickey Mouse.

Following is a link to a clip from the program:

The world view of these Palestinian children is a direct result of their formal education, which teaches them to envision a world without Israel.

The following are examples from PA schoolbooks, which teach children to imagine a world without Israel:

"Coastal states differ in terms of their access to water sources, such as...: states located on sea coasts with accesses to two seas, for example: Palestine and Egypt to the Mediterranean Sea and the Red Sea."
[Physical Geography and Human Geography, Grade 12, p. 105]

"Palestine has a long coast facing the Mediterranean sea and a short coast on the Gulf of Aqaba."
[Health and Environment Studies, Grade 8 (2003), p. 130, the Israeli city of Eilat is on the Gulf of Eilat (Aqaba) - Ed.]

"... The Tiberias Lake [Sea of Galilee], in Palestine"
[Physical Geography, Grade 5, p. 25]

Following is the text of the quiz:

Host: List three Palestinian ports.

(On phone) Adham: Haifa, Ashdod and Gaza.

Host: Your answer was correct...I'll add a few. Dear friends, we have the Haifa port, Jaffa, Ashkelon, Eilat, Ashdod & Gaza.
[Note: All are Israeli cities except Gaza.]

Host: What is the size of the state of Palestine?

(On phone) Haidar:  27,000 sq. km.
[Note: The size of the West Bank and Gaza is 6,220 sq. km.]

Host:  Bravo!

Host: Name three countries bordering Palestine.

Boy: That's easy.

(On phone) Muhammad:  Lebanon, Jordan, Egypt.
[Note: Only Israel borders Lebanon.]

Host: The Palestinian borders overlook two important seas. What are their names?

(On phone) Lama: The Mediterranean and the Red Sea.
[Note: The Red Sea borders Israel's southern tip.]

Host: Congratulations, your answer is correct.

Host: What's the name of the only sweet-water lake in Palestine?

On phone: Ayyam The Tiberias Sea [the Sea of Galilee or the Kinneret].
[Note: The Sea of Galilee is in Israel.]

Host: Your answer is correct.

PMW sparks debate in Norway
over funding of PA hate indoctrination

July 30, 2008
PMW director Itamar Marcus's recent trip to Norway has sparked a debate at the highest political levels about whether Norway should continue funding the Palestinian Authority, which uses its budget to glorify terror and terrorists, and to promote hatred and violence.

The issue was the lead item on the nightly TV news.
Norway's TV news highlighted the dilemma faced by countries funding the PA who do not want to fund the PA hate culture. [TV 2 (Norway) news, July 6, 2008]
